Musical Events

We have quite a few musical events happening at Ascension throughout the year! We are a frequent venue for outside groups and performers, particularly local flutist and composer Carrie Rose and chamber music group Washington Musica Viva. Every year Ascension music director Bailey Joy Myers and her husband, professional French horn player Kevin Grasel, host a Holiday Brass Concert that features musicians from local premier military bands and raises funds for charitable causes. Other recent Ascension-sponsored events include a concert of Music by Black Women Composers in February 2023 that featured Ascension’s Festival Choir and local chamber musicians.
