Musical Events

We have quite a few musical events happening at Ascension throughout the year! We are a frequent venue for outside groups and performers, particularly local flutist and composer Carrie Rose and chamber music group Washington Musica Viva. Every year Ascension music director Bailey Joy Myers and her husband, professional French horn player Kevin Grasel, host a Holiday Brass Concert that features musicians from local premier military bands and raises funds for charitable causes. See upcoming events here, or send an email to music@ascensionsilverspring.org if you’d like to receive notifications about upcoming musical events.

First Friday Solidarity Sing

The First Friday Solidarity Sing is a monthly community singing event in collaboration with partners Carpe Diem Arts, Tommy’s Pantry, and Silver Spring and Takoma Park Mutual Aid. Come at 6:30 to connect with neighbors, discover ways to get involved in the community, and take small action steps to meet local needs. Singing begins at 7 p.m.
