Ascension follows a “let a thousand flowers bloom” approach to many aspects of our common life. This has kept us dynamic and provided ground for new ideas to take hold, but it hasn’t necessarily been easy for newcomers (including an incoming Rector) to grasp while looking to find their niche.
With a period of at least three months this summer when we will have only lay leadership, the Vestry has decided that adding some structure will help sustain momentum in parish life while we search for, select, welcome, and begin life with a new Rector. To that end, the Vestry has created five Commissions, each with a vestry liaison to parish leaders, to convene and loosely coordinate related ministries.
The five Commissions will be:
Christian Formation
Communications
Worship and Music
Inreach and Parishioner Connections
Outreach and Community Connections
