Welcome to the Church of the Ascension, Sligo Parish (Episcopal / Anglican). We invite you to visit us often, online and in Silver Spring, and to join us in your journey of faith. We would love to meet you.
The Church of the Ascension is a growing, vibrant Episcopal parish of all ages and backgrounds. The parish is committed to Christian formation for all ages as well as ministries to serve the needs of the neighborhood and the world.
The Church of the Ascension is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, Region IV. The Diocese of Washington is part of the Episcopal Church in the USA, and of the Anglican Communion worldwide.

Join us at 7:30 Tuesday evenings in August for our Summer Music Symposium Series led by David Cato in the Parish Hall.
We welcome The Rev. Connie Sanchez from Honduras as our con-celebrant at the 10:00am Service. The service will contain both English and Spanish Language and have Spanish hymns. Coffee hour following to greet Rev. Sanchez and hear about the Episcopal Church in Honduras.

Meet our Spiritual leader, our Rector
The Reverend Dr. Beilstein is a cradle Episcopalian and a native Washingtonian. She is a graduate of General Theological Seminary in New York and has a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Virginia Theological Seminary. In the 13 years since her ordination she has been doing parish work, most recently at All Souls in Washington and Nativity in Camp Springs, Maryland. She now lives in Silver Spring, just a short distance from Church of the Ascension.
